After reviewing feedback from listening sessions and from the online survey, Lorena ISD with assistance from the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) has developed a Leadership profile to inform the search process for the district’s new superintendent.
Finding the right leader for Lorena ISD is not a task that can be done in a vacuum. Hearing from LISD teachers, staff, and community about their hopes for our students, and the specific challenges and opportunities that they see need to be addressed, has provided us with a roadmap for the future. "The search for a superintendent is the most important responsibility of a school board,” said Lorena ISD School Board President Denny Kramer. “Staff and Community input has been a driving force behind the search process for the next superintendent, and because of everyone’s participation, we are not just looking at candidates’ cover letters and resumes. We are looking for a strong, future-focused partner for our community."
After reviewing hundreds of comments from the survey and from the listening sessions, some key priorities have emerged for the next superintendent:
- Provide strategic, student-centered leadership
- Communicate clearly, consistently, and with transparency
- Build strong relationships and strengthen community trust
Guided by your input, the Board has developed a Leadership profile. We invite you to take a look at the profile using the link below.
